In this second QUARTZ album, SOUNDSCAPES FROM ELSEWHERE, Harry Szpilmann continues his materialist exploration of the sound he initiated in the album ATOMZ.
Being more composed than his prior work, this new album presents an imaginary geography, landscapes that are both cold and warm, pure and abrupt, rough and silky, like a linen fabric with a rough touch that lets a soft light pass through. Here opposites are combined in surprisingly coherent variations.
Similarly, silence is subtly present in the sound. All the mystery that emanates from the pieces is retained in their hearts. With attention, the listener will be able to capture all the depth of it as they listen.

Besides the QUARTZ project, Harry Szpilmann is also active in BEWATER, OVERSEAS NOVA, PLAN 9, KID ALGODON and ISHI FROM BEE.

🇫🇷 Dans ce deuxième album de QUARTZ, SOUNDSCAPES FROM ELSEWHERE, Harry Szpilmann continue son exploration matiériste du son initié dans l’album ATOMZ.
Plus posé que son prédécesseur, on croise ici une géographie imaginaire, des paysages tour à tour froids et chaleureux, épurés et abrupts, rudes et soyeux. On pourrait parler d’un tissu de lin au toucher rèche et qui laisse passer une douce lumière. Ici les contraires se marient dans une variété d’une cohérence étonnante.
De même, le silence est subtilement présent dans le son. Tout le mystère qui émane des morceaux est retenu en leurs coeurs. L’auditeur pourra, s’il y est attentif, en capter toute la profondeur au fil des écoutes.

A côté du projet QUARTZ, Harry Szpilmann est également actif au sein de BEWATER, OVERSEAS NOVA, PLAN 9, KID ALGODON et ISHI FROM BEE.
